Mountain Gaina


   

The Stone Land, sub-regional traditional Transylvanian village near Vidra de Sus, Alba is Hen Mountain.
In summer, the day of St. Elias (Traditional to July 20) or the nearest Sunday on St. Elijah Fair takes place involving girls of marriageable girls or big girls who want to petition sons. Preparation for this celebration may take years for girls and bring dowry received from parents and relatives packed into beautiful chests carved with different motifs.


Organizers are delegates from Vidra village (called vidreşti) and Bulzeşti village (called Crişeni).
Early morning celebration begins. Families with marriageable daughters come with tents where girls expose dowry. At the same time, you can buy agricultural tools made ​​of Crişeni. Change occurs in choosing bridal kerchief, then prânzeşte (feast) with musicians song. Locals believe that only here, on Mount Gaina, a wedding brings luck and happiness.
